Linked the wrong Telegram? Change it in support
One Telegram account links to one Onflow Ads account at a time. If the wrong one is on your account (a second phone, a work account, someone else's), the support chat unlinks it once you prove that Telegram account is yours. Then you connect the right one.
Unlinking works identically on every plan and costs nothing. The chat never refuses it because you have run out of messages.
Before you startβ
- You are signed in. The chat acts only on the Onflow Ads account you are signed in to.
- Your account has a confirmed sign-in email. After the unlink you sign in with it, so the chat checks this first. An account made with Log in with Telegram adds its email first: see Add your email.
- You can open the Telegram account that is linked now. The code goes there. If you can't, see If you can no longer open that Telegram account.
Unlink it in the support chatβ
- Open the support chat and say what you need, in your own words: for example "I linked the wrong Telegram" or "unlink my Telegram". On your account page, the card Telegram connection has a button, Change it in the support chat, that asks for you.
- The chat names the Telegram account that is linked (its @username or name, and the last four digits of its ID) and explains what happens. Nothing has changed yet.
- Type CONFIRM, or tap Type CONFIRM. The chat sends a 6-digit code to that Telegram account through
@OnflowAdsBot, in a message headed Your Telegram unlink code. - Type the code into the chat, on its own. It works once, for 10 minutes. The conversation keeps it hidden from the moment you send it. Send a new code gets you another one; Cancel stops here and keeps your Telegram linked.
- The chat answers "Done: Telegram is unlinked from your Onflow Ads account."
The code message cannot be forwarded or saved. Nobody at Onflow Ads ever sees the code: the chat checks it for you.
What happens when it is unlinkedβ
- You are signed out on every device, this one included. Whoever had the old Telegram can no longer use it to get into your account, and the next Telegram can be connected only after you sign in again with your email.
- You are told three ways. An email titled "Telegram was unlinked from your account" reaches your sign-in address, a notice appears in your notifications, and the Telegram account that left gets a message from the bot headed Telegram unlinked.
- Until you connect another Telegram account, our notices reach you by email and on the website, and the things that need Telegram wait for it. See Why Telegram and email are both required.
- Nothing else changes. Your wallet, channels, campaigns, orders and history stay exactly as they are.
Connect the right Telegram accountβ
- Sign in with your email, or with Google if your account uses it.
- Open your account page and press Connect Telegram on the card Telegram connection.
- Before you tap Yes, connect it in the bot, check that the Telegram app is signed in to the account you want. This is the step where the wrong account is usually chosen.
The full steps are on Connecting your Telegram account to the bot.
If you can no longer open that Telegram accountβ
Say human in the chat and tell the person who joins what happened. They can send a code to your sign-in email instead, or one code to each. A line in the chat says where each code went.
Type the code into the chat, on its own, exactly as above. The chat checks it and writes a line saying whether it matched. The person helping you never sees the code, and will never ask you to read it out or send it anywhere else. Once a code has matched, they unlink your Telegram and give you a reason by email.
What the chat can answer insteadβ
Sometimes the chat cannot unlink your Telegram yet. Each message below is one it may show, with why it happens and what to do next.
"There's no Telegram account linked to your Onflow Ads account"β
- Why it happens: No Telegram is on this account, so there is nothing to unlink.
- How to fix it: Say "link my Telegram", or press Connect Telegram on your account page.
"Your account signs in with Telegram only"β
- Why it happens: Your account was made with Log in with Telegram and has no email address. Unlinking would leave no way to sign in.
- How to fix it: Press Add your email under the answer, confirm the address with the code it is sent, then ask again.
"Telegram didn't accept the message"β
- Why it happens: That Telegram account has blocked
@OnflowAdsBot, or never pressed Start in it, so the bot cannot send it anything. - How to fix it: Open the bot from that Telegram account, press Start, then say resend. If you can't open that account any more, say human.
"That code didn't match"β
- Why it happens: The code was mistyped, or it was an older code. Only the newest code works.
- How to fix it: Type the code from the newest message, on its own. The answer says how many tries are left.
"That code has expired"β
- Why it happens: More than 10 minutes passed.
- How to fix it: Say resend for a new code.
"That's too many wrong codes"β
- Why it happens: A code allows 5 wrong tries. After that it stops working, and your Telegram stays linked.
- How to fix it: Ask again later for a new code, or say human.
"That's as many codes as I can send for your account for now"β
- Why it happens: An account can be sent 4 codes an hour and 10 a day, and 20 wrong tries a day stop new codes until the day has passed. This protects you if someone else is signed in to your account.
- How to fix it: Try again later, or say human.
"I've only just sent a code"β
- Why it happens: A new code was asked for within a minute of the last one.
- How to fix it: Wait for the message to arrive, or for the number of seconds the chat names.
Keep the code to yourselfβ
- Type an unlink code only into the support chat on
onflowads.com, where you asked for it. The bot never asks you to type it in Telegram. - Nobody from Onflow Ads will ask you to read a code out or send it to them, in the chat, by email, on Telegram or anywhere else.
- A code you did not ask for means someone may be signed in to your account. Don't use it, and change your password.
