Request a Syndicate licence

When you find a post you want, you ask for a licence for one of your channels. You pay when you ask, and the money is held until the licence ends.

The same on every plan

Requesting a licence works the same way on every plan. The price is set by the post's owner.

What your channel needs

The host channel must be a channel you connected to Onflow Ads and own, with @OnflowAdsBot as an administrator with the Post Messages right. The bot publishes the post there for you. The channel's category must be one the post's terms allow.

Ask for a licence

  1. Open the post on the Browse tab and press Take a licence.
  2. Pick your channel and the language.
  3. Press Get a quote. The quote shows how much is Paid from Onflow Credit (it can pay only the Syndicate fee), how much is Paid from your wallet (the owner's share is always paid from your wallet), any Onflow Credit that is not spendable yet, the total charged now, and how long the post will be with its attribution line. A free licence costs nothing.
  4. Press Request and pay (it shows the amount), or Take a licence for a free one.

Plus plan Β· Channel owner β€” the quote for a licence, paid from Onflow Credit and the wallet 1 Paid from Onflow Credit. 2 Paid from your wallet. 3 Request and pay.

When you pay

A paid licence is charged when you send the request, in two parts:

  • The Syndicate fee, Onflow's part. Onflow Credit pays it first; whatever the credit does not cover comes from your wallet.
  • The owner's share. Always from your wallet balance. Onflow Credit never pays it.

If your wallet balance does not cover the owner's share, the request is refused before anything is charged, whatever your Onflow Credit balance, with this message: "The post owner's share is paid from your wallet balance; Onflow Credit pays only Onflow's fee. Top up $X to request this licence." $X is the cash you are missing.

The money is held while the owner decides. If the owner declines, or does not answer in time, the request expires and you get it all back, each part to its pocket: the owner's share to your wallet, and the Syndicate fee in the mix it was paid in, the Onflow Credit part as Onflow Credit and the rest to your wallet.

The price, the fee and the terms are frozen when you ask. A later change by the owner does not touch your licence.

What is refused at once

The page refuses a request, before anything is charged, when:

  • The attribution line would not fit. Telegram limits how long a post or a caption can be. If the post plus its attribution line would go over, the page says by exactly how many characters.
  • It is your own post. You cannot license a post to yourself, or to an account that shares your device.
  • The post is full. It already has as many hosts as its terms allow, or another host holds it inside its exclusivity window.
  • Your channel does not fit the terms. Its category or the language is not allowed.
