Syndicate payouts for hosts

When you pay for a Syndicate licence, the money stays with us until the owner of the post is paid. This page explains when that happens, how to dispute it, and how to release it early.

The same on every plan

The payout rule, disputes and early release work the same way on every plan. No plan pays an owner sooner.

When the owner is paid

A licence completes when its live window ends: the post has stayed up for its minimum period, or the licence ended sooner because of a breach. The owner's payout lands 7 days after it completes, unless you dispute it within 72 hours of that time. If the owner's reliability band is lower when the payout is due, it waits longer: 10 days (Watch), 14 days (Restricted) or 21 days (Frozen). Both dates show on the licence on your Syndicate page and in the notice you get when the live window ends.

Dispute a payout

Open the licence on the Licences tab and choose Dispute this payout. You can do this only as the host who paid, only after the live window ended and only within 72 hours of that time. Say what went wrong in a few sentences and add your evidence: a description of what you saw, or https links to it.

While your dispute is open, the payout is held. A person on our team decides it:

  • Release. The owner is paid on the usual date.
  • Split. The owner is paid part of it on the usual date, and the rest of your price comes back to you at once, each part to its pocket in the same way.
  • Refund. Your price comes back to you, each part to its pocket: the owner's share to your wallet, the Syndicate fee in the mix it was paid in (the Onflow Credit part as Onflow Credit, the rest to your wallet).

A dispute sent after the window closed is refused. Disputes are limited per day, and a dispute our team finds abusive can, after a review you can answer, lower your reliability score.

Release a payout early

Once our check has seen the licensed post live in your channel, you can release the owner's payout early from the licence. This is the only way an owner is paid before the usual date, and only you can do it.

Before it goes through you see the amount, the channel and everything you give up for that licence: disputes, refunds, and our help with fraud. You tick each item, type RELEASE, enter your password (and your two-factor code if it is on), and wait for a short countdown. It cannot be undone, and support cannot reverse it.

Only cash from deposits that have cleared is released early. The owner's share is paid in cash, so this is normally the whole payout. On a licence bought before the current rules, the part paid with Onflow Credit is never released early; it is paid on the usual date.
