Syndicate breaches

A host breaks a licence by removing the attribution line or by deleting the post before the minimum period ends. A breach that stands ends the licence.

The same on every plan

Breaches are handled the same way on every plan.

The two breaches

PenaltyWhat happenedChange
Syndicate attribution line removedThe attribution line or its link was taken out of a licensed post.βˆ’0.75
Syndicate post deleted earlyThe licensed post was deleted before the minimum period ended.βˆ’1.00

The amounts on your own reliability page are the ones that apply. See Reliability score.

Before a breach counts

A breach is recorded only with proof that it was your own act, under the rules in How a penalty is proved. An edit that keeps the attribution line and its link, Telegram changing how the line or its preview is shown, a post that Telegram itself removed, or a check that could not read your channel never counts. A deleted post counts only when it was gone on several checks spread over time, with @OnflowAdsBot still an administrator.

Where a breach can be put right, such as an attribution line taken out, you get a notice and a deadline to restore it first. Restored in time, it is only a warning. See A chance to fix it first.

What happens to the money

  • The host is not refunded. The licence ends with the state Ended.
  • The owner is still paid. The licence completes at the breach, and the owner is paid under the usual payout rule, less the Syndicate fee.

When it is not the host's fault

If the owner deleted the source post before the bot published your copy, or a copyright complaint about the post is upheld, you are refunded in the proportions you paid, and your score does not change. See Syndicate copyright complaints.

Disagree with a breach

If you think a breach was recorded by mistake, appeal the penalty from your reliability page. A person on our team decides. If the penalty is reversed, everything it caused goes with it. See Appealing a penalty.

In the Watch band you can host fewer paid licences at once, and in the Restricted band none. See Your band.
