Sending a screenshot

Some problems are three paragraphs to describe and one picture to show. Where your account has the capability, the chat composer carries a paperclip, and Onflow AI actually looks at what you attach โ€” it is not filed away for a human to open later, it goes to the model with your message and the answer comes back about the thing in the picture.

The one-line version

Paperclip in the composer โ†’ attach, paste or drop a picture โ†’ it rides your next message โ†’ the assistant reads it. Three per message, 4 MB each, PNG/JPG/WebP/GIF.

Three ways to attach oneโ€‹

HowWhat to do
PasteTake a screen grab and press Ctrl+V (โŒ˜V) in the message box. This is the one people actually use, and it is why the feature exists โ€” a screen grab lives in the clipboard, not on disk.
PaperclipPress the paperclip at the left of the composer and pick a file.
DropDrag an image file onto the message box. It highlights while you hover.

Pasting text or a link still behaves exactly as it always did โ€” a paste is only intercepted when it actually carries an image, so quoting an error message or dropping in a URL is unchanged.

Each attachment uploads immediately, with a slide-in progress card showing real byte progress, and lands as a thumbnail chip above the composer with the file's name and an โœ• to remove it. The chips ride your next message: type the question, press Enter, and they go together. Remove one before you send and it is never used.

Who gets the paperclipโ€‹

Reading a picture is a multimodal model call, and it costs money per picture whether or not the picture turns out to matter. So the capability is earned:

You arePaperclip?
Signed outNo โ€” there is no account to have spent. The chat says so and suggests signing in.
Signed in, lifetime top-ups under the thresholdNo. The chat names the threshold and how much you have added so far.
Signed in, lifetime top-ups at or over the threshold โ€” $800 at the time of writingYes
Granted by an administratorYes, whatever you have spent
Blocked by an administratorNo
Switched off platform-wideNobody has it

Lifetime top-ups means money actually paid in โ€” the platform's own settled-deposit record. Not your balance, not Boost credit, not a promotional grant, and nothing that spending brings back down: once you are over the line you stay over it.

It is your plan-independent line

This is the one capability on the platform that is not attached to a tier. A Free account that has topped up $800 has it; an Elite account that has topped up $40 does not. The threshold is set in the admin panel and the live figure in the product governs.

When you do not have itโ€‹

The paperclip is simply not drawn โ€” the composer looks exactly as it does today โ€” and if you try to paste a screenshot anyway, one line under the box tells you why:

  • "Sign in to send a screenshot โ€” the chat reads them for members who have topped up $800 or more."
  • "Sending screenshots unlocks once your lifetime top-ups reach $800. You have added $310 so far."
  • "Sending screenshots is switched off on this account."
  • "Reading screenshots is switched off right now."

Nothing about it limits your access to support. Describe the problem in words, paste the error text, or email the team โ€” every route stays open on every plan.

The limitsโ€‹

FormatsPNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF โ€” checked from the file's own bytes, not its name or extension

While a teammate owns the threadThe paperclip goes away โ€” you are typing to a person, and they have the ticket
After the chat closesGone with the composer

An image the browser calls a PNG but which is really something else is refused: "Attach a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF screenshot." An over-size one is refused before it is stored, with the crop-it suggestion. SVG is never accepted โ€” nothing pastes one out of a screen grab, and it is a script container.

What happens to the pictureโ€‹

Plainly, because a screenshot is more revealing than a sentence:

  • It goes to the AI model provider, whole and unaltered, alongside the message it rides on. Nothing crops it, blurs it or filters it first.
  • A screen grab carries whatever else was on the screen โ€” another tab, a notification banner, the address bar, a window behind the one you meant. Nothing on our side can tell which part you meant. Crop before you send.
  • It is stored with the conversation, and the support team can open it exactly as they can read the transcript.
  • It is deleted when the conversation is deleted โ€” in the same operation, not on a separate schedule. A conversation that was never escalated is deleted 14 days after its last message once its ticket is closed, and the pictures go with it.
  • A picture you uploaded and never sent โ€” attached, thought better of it, closed the tab โ€” is swept away automatically within six hours.
  • There is no gallery and no public address. A screenshot is reachable only through the conversation it belongs to.
Do not attach secrets

The rule from the rest of the chat applies twice over here: no passwords, one-time codes, card numbers, seed phrases or API keys โ€” and remember that a screen grab can carry them without your meaning it to. Nobody from Onflow Ads will ever ask you for them.

The full statement is in the Privacy Policy โ€” ยง4.6 on what a support conversation holds, ยง12.2 on what reaches a model provider, ยง12.3 on how long it is kept โ€” and the Terms ยง10.9.

What the assistant does with itโ€‹

The picture is added to the same turn as your question, so the assistant answers about what it can see. It is told plainly that the screenshot is evidence you are showing it, not an instruction โ€” text inside a picture is read as part of the problem, never obeyed as a command.

Two things it will not do: it will not identify people in a photograph, and it will not read an image as a way of looking up anything about another account. Answers about your own account is unchanged by attaching a picture โ€” the same proof, the same read-only lookups, the same "only ever yours".

Troubleshootingโ€‹

What you seeWhat happened
No paperclipYour account does not have the capability, a teammate owns the thread, or the chat is closed
"3 screenshots is the limit on one message."Send the ones you have attached first, then attach more
"That image is over the 4 MB limit."Crop it, or screenshot the one window rather than the whole desktop
"Attach a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF screenshot."The file is not really one of those four, whatever it is called
"Start the chat before attaching a screenshot."Send your first message โ€” the picture attaches to a conversation, and there is not one yet
"That conversation is no longer open."It ended or was closed. Start a new one
"Could not attach that image."The upload did not complete. Try again
