Create a Pulse poll

A Pulse poll is one question with a set of answers. You write it once, and the same poll is sent to every channel that accepts it.

Available on every plan

Any account can write a brand poll. You pay only for the host channels, never for your plan.

Write the poll

  1. Open the Pulse page and press New poll.
  2. Write the question, up to 300 characters.
  3. Add between 2 and 12 answers, each up to 100 characters. A person can pick one answer.
  4. Add a description if you want one, up to 1,024 characters, and a photo if you want one.
  5. Press Next: choose channels.

These are Telegram's own limits, counted the way Telegram counts them: most emoji count as two characters. The counter under each box shows how many characters are left, and a poll that Telegram could not post is refused before anything is charged.

Who can vote

By default only members of each channel can vote. This keeps the answers to the people the channel reaches. You can also limit voting to people in some countries, up to 12 of them.

Telegram shows a vote total only when the poll closes, so nobody is swayed by the running count.

What the content check refuses

Before anything is charged, the poll passes the same content check as a Paid Promotions post, and a check for incentives. A poll is refused when:

  • It offers something for voting. Words such as "win", "prize", "giveaway", "reward", "vote to", "chance to" and "free" are refused. Nobody may be paid or rewarded for voting.
  • Its subject is not allowed. Banned categories are always refused, and some sensitive subjects are refused for brand polls.

The page names the words or the reason, so you can edit the poll and try again.

What your plan includes

Every plan can ask other channels' audiences. Your plan sets how many channels one poll may reach (25 on Free, 50 on Lite, 100 on Plus, 200 from Elite), and Test before you buy comes with Lite and above. The form says what your plan does not include; Which plan adds it shows the plan that does. The server applies the same rules when you confirm, and a plan never changes a poll's results.

Free plan Β· Advertiser β€” a new poll and what the plan includes 1 Test before you buy is not part of the Free plan. 2 One poll reaches up to 25 channels on Free.
