Troubleshooting cross-promotion results and extras

This page covers everything that can go wrong after a swap goes live, and in the extras built around it. Find the message you see, or the thing that is not working.

Problems before a campaign exists are on Troubleshooting Cross-Promotion. Problems on the campaign page before go-live are on Troubleshooting cross-promotion posts and delivery.

Reading results

These cards cover the Results panel on a campaign page: verdict banners, missing tiles and numbers that look wrong.

There is no Results panel yet

  • Where you see it: The campaign page on the website, below the two posts.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The Results panel appears only once a campaign reads Live now, Wrapping up, Completed or Didn’t run. A campaign that is Scheduled, Going live or earlier has nothing to report yet.
  • How to fix it: Wait for the go-live time. The page updates by itself while it is open. See Reading cross-promotion results.

"Neither ad could be posted"

  • Where you see it: The Results panel, next to the pill Did not run. You may also see One of the two ads could not be posted. Under either title the banner reads "This campaign was called off before it ran — any ad that did go out was taken down again, so nothing stayed live and no one is penalised. This usually means our bot lost admin posting rights on a channel, or an ad image could not be fetched. Fix that, then run a fresh cross-promotion."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: @OnflowAdsBot could not publish both ads, so the run was called off before it started. Any ad that did go out was taken down again. Nothing stayed live, nobody is penalised, and the campaign does not count toward your monthly allowance.
  • How to fix it:
    1. In both channels, make @OnflowAdsBot an administrator that can post and delete messages again. See Verifying your channel.
    2. Press Run a fresh campaign and build the swap again. If your post had a photo, upload it again.

Lite plan — a campaign that did not run: neither ad stayed up and nobody is penalised This is what the creator sees when the bot could not publish both ads. 1 The campaign status reads Didn’t run. 2 The pill Did not run replaces the usual numbers, because there are none. 3 The banner title says how many ads failed, here One of the two ads could not be posted. The text under it confirms that nothing stayed live and no one is penalised. 4 Run a fresh campaign starts a new swap once the bot's rights are restored.

"This campaign could not run"

  • Where you see it: The Results panel, next to the pill Did not run. The banner reads "Something went wrong while starting this campaign, so it was stopped safely — nothing is live and no one is penalised. Run a fresh cross-promotion; if this keeps happening, contact support."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Something went wrong on our side while the campaign was starting, so it was stopped safely. Nothing is live and nobody is penalised.
  • How to fix it: Press Run a fresh campaign. If the same banner appears again, contact support and quote the Campaign ID shown on the campaign page.

"Neither ad could be published"

  • Where you see it: The Results panel of a campaign that did go live, next to the pill Not fully published. You may also see One of the two ads could not be published. The first banner begins "Our bot could not post into the channels when this run started — usually because it is no longer an admin there. Nothing went out, so the numbers below stay at zero." The second begins "Our bot could not post one of the two ads when this run started — usually because it is no longer an admin on that channel. Only the side that did go out has real numbers below."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The bot could not post into one or both channels when the run started, usually because it is no longer an administrator there. With Neither ad could be published, every number stays at zero. With the other banner, only the side that went out has real numbers.
  • How to fix it: Make @OnflowAdsBot an administrator that can post and delete messages again in the channels named, then run a fresh cross-promotion. See Verifying your channel.

"You removed the cross-post early"

  • Where you see it: The Results panel, next to the pill Violation. The bot sends Rule break recorded, and the notification bell shows A rule break was recorded on your cross-promotion. You may also receive A decision about one of your campaigns. The bot's message reads "Your cross-promotion partner's ad was taken down from your channel before the run was over, which counts as breaking the deal. We confirmed it before recording it." Its What happened row says "Your partner's ad was removed early", and it ends "Open your reliability page for the full details, and appeal if you believe this is a mistake. Repeated rule breaks can lead to a suspension."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Your partner's ad was taken down from your channel before the agreed end of the run. That breaks the deal. Your reliability score is reduced by the amount in the banner, and any cover you declared is paid to your partner. The campaign no longer counts as a clean completion.
  • How to fix it: If the decision is wrong, appeal from your reliability page before the date in the notice. After that date the decision stands. In future runs, leave the ad in place until the bot removes it. See Cross-promotion rules, limits and fair play.

Free plan — a recorded rule break, as the side that removed the post early Only the side at fault sees this view. 1 The pill Violation sits beside the Completed pill. 2 The banner title names the rule that was broken. 3 The text under it states the reduction to your reliability score. Its last sentence points to your reliability page, where you can read the details and appeal.

"You left your partner’s channel early"

  • Where you see it: The Results panel, next to the pill Violation. The bot sends Rule break recorded, with the line You left the partner channel early. Its text reads "You left your cross-promotion partner's channel before the run was over. Staying subscribed for the whole run is part of the deal, so this counts as breaking it. We confirmed it before recording it. If it is the first time, it is a warning only." A first case may arrive as the notice A warning about a campaign rule.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Staying subscribed to your partner's channel for the whole run is part of the deal, and you left before it ended. The banner states the reduction to your reliability score. A first case can be a warning with no reduction, but any cover you declared is still paid to your partner.
  • How to fix it: Stay in your partner's channel until the campaign reads Completed. If this was not you, press Appeal on the page the notice opens, or appeal from your reliability page.

"Your partner removed their post early"

  • Where you see it: The Results panel, next to the pill Partner pulled early. If your partner left your channel instead, the pill is Partner left early and the banner reads Your partner left your channel early. The bot sends Partner removed your ad early, which reads "Your cross-promotion partner took your ad down from their channel before the agreed time. You do not need to do anything." For a partner who left, it sends Partner left your channel early, which reads "Your cross-promotion partner unsubscribed from your channel before the agreed time. You do not need to do anything." The bell shows Your partner broke the cross-promotion deal.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Your partner broke the deal before the agreed end. A reliability penalty was applied to them. None of it counts against you.
  • How to fix it: You do not need to do anything. If your partner declared cover, check your wallet for the payout. The cover cards below explain what the banner says about money.

"Our anti-cheat monitor confirmed a rule break on your side of this run — the details below say what was recorded."

  • Where you see it: The message Cross-promotion finished from @OnflowAdsBot, at the end of a run with a rule break on your side. It ends "Open your reliability page to see why, and appeal if you think it is a mistake."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: A rule break was recorded against you during the run: the ad was taken down early, or you left your partner's channel early. The folded Reliability score row says what was done. It reads "points recorded for the rule break — applied on onflowads.com. You can appeal this from your reliability page.", "a violation for the rule break was recorded, with no change to your score. You can see it on your reliability page." or "a violation for the rule break was recorded for review — nothing has been applied to your score yet. You can see it on your reliability page."
  • How to fix it: Open your reliability page and read the entry. If it is a mistake, appeal there before the date the notice gives. See Appealing a penalty or a decision.

"Your partner broke the cross-promotion deal too"

  • Where you see it: A message from @OnflowAdsBot and the notification bell on the website. Your own Results panel shows the pill Violation.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: A rule break was recorded on both sides of the same run. Each side is penalised for its own part. No cover is paid in either direction.
  • How to fix it: Read the details on your reliability page. If the decision about your own side is wrong, appeal it there.

A subscriber tile is missing

  • Where you see it: The Results panel, where Your subscribers gained or Partner subscribers gained should be.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The subscriber tiles appear only once the campaign is Completed. A tile is also left out when that channel's subscriber count could not be read at the start or the end of the run.
  • How to fix it: Nothing needs fixing. The opens and joins in the other tiles are not affected by a missing subscriber tile.

The "View your live post" and "View partner's post" buttons are gone

  • Where you see it: The Results panel of a campaign that has finished, or of a campaign with a private channel.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The two buttons open the posts while they are up. When the run ends the bot removes both posts, so the buttons are withdrawn. They are also missing when a channel has no public @username.
  • How to fix it: Nothing is wrong. To see the posts in place, open the campaign while it reads Live now or Wrapping up.

Every number is 0, or a chart says "Not measured yet."

  • Where you see it: The tiles and charts in the Results panel. You may also see No measured data yet. or No data yet.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Nobody has tapped a link in the ad yet, or the ad never appeared. Button counts can also read 0 while Your ad opens is above 0. That means readers tapped links in the text, not the buttons.
  • How to fix it:
    1. Look for the pill Not fully published at the top of the panel. If it is there, follow the card "Neither ad could be published" above.
    2. If the run is live, give readers time. The numbers update as the campaign runs.
    3. Press Click analytics for your ad to see the count for each link.

"Click analytics for your ad" is missing

  • Where you see it: The Results panel, under the tiles, where the button normally sits.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Part of the page did not finish loading. The button shows the figures for your own ad only, so there is no matching button for your partner's ad.
  • How to fix it: Reload the page. If the button is still missing, contact support with the Campaign ID.

"Your partner's ad could not be taken down from your channel, so please delete it yourself."

  • Where you see it: The notice Your cross-promotion finished, in a message from @OnflowAdsBot and in the notification bell on the website. The other side sees Your ad could not be taken down from your partner's channel, and they have been asked to delete it.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The bot could no longer delete posts in a channel when the run ended. The campaign is Completed, but one ad is still up. The run does not count as a clean completion.
  • How to fix it:
    1. Delete the leftover ad from your channel. The run has ended, so removing it now is not a rule break.
    2. Make @OnflowAdsBot an administrator that can post and delete messages again. See Verifying your channel.

Cover payouts

These cards explain what happened to declared cover after a rule break. Cover is described in full on Campaign insurance for a cross-promotion.

"Your insurance cover was paid to your partner"

  • Where you see it: The notification bell on the website. An email with the same title follows unless you have turned those emails off.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: A rule break was recorded on your side of the campaign, so the cover you declared was paid from your wallet to your partner. If it was your first case, the notice adds that your reliability was not affected. The cover is paid either way. If your balance was too low, your wallet is now below zero.
  • How to fix it:
    1. Open your wallet. If the balance is below zero, top up to clear it. See Owing money.
    2. If you did not break the rule, appeal from your reliability page.

"This campaign was not insured, so there is no payout."

  • Where you see it: The last sentence of the banner Your partner removed their post early or Your partner left your channel early, in the Results panel.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Your partner broke the deal and had declared no cover. They were penalised, but no money moves.
  • How to fix it: Nothing can be claimed for this campaign. Next time, read both cover figures on the campaign page before you confirm the schedule. After confirmation both figures are locked.

Your partner had declared cover but no money has arrived

  • Where you see it: The banner about your partner's rule break says nothing about insurance, and your wallet shows no payout.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The payout has not been made yet, or the decision may still be under review. No cover is paid when a rule break was recorded on both sides. Once the money has moved, the banner adds Your campaign insurance has paid you compensation — check your wallet.
  • How to fix it: Reload the campaign page later and check your wallet. If nothing arrives, contact support and quote the Campaign ID.

Rating a partner

These cards cover the Rate your partner box that appears under the results of a completed campaign.

"Tap a star to rate your partner first."

  • Where you see it: The Rate your partner box, after pressing Submit rating. You may also see Pick a rating from 1 to 5 stars.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: You pressed Submit rating before choosing a star. The note is optional, but the stars are not.
  • How to fix it: Tap one of the five stars so they fill, then press Submit rating again.

"You can rate your partner once the campaign has finished."

  • Where you see it: The Rate your partner box, after pressing Submit rating on a page that was left open.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: A rating is accepted only when the campaign is Completed. The page you had open showed an older state.
  • How to fix it: Reload the page. When the status reads Completed, rate your partner. See Rating a cross-promotion partner.

"You’ve already rated this campaign."

  • Where you see it: The Rate your partner box, after pressing Submit rating. If the rating could not be saved for another reason, the message is Could not save your rating.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: You rated this campaign before, perhaps with a double press or in a second tab. Each side rates a campaign once.
  • How to fix it: Nothing needs doing. Your first rating stands and cannot be changed or deleted. For Could not save your rating., reload the page and submit again.

There is no "Rate your partner" box

  • Where you see it: The campaign page, under the Results panel.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The box appears only on a Completed campaign between two partners. It is not shown on a campaign that was cancelled, expired or did not run, on a Blitz, or on a row tagged "via Telegram". If you already rated, the pill You rated your partner with your stars takes its place.
  • How to fix it: Nothing is wrong. If the campaign is still running, come back when it reads Completed.

Creating and launching a Blitz

These cards are for the creator of a Blitz, the one-to-many campaign described on Blitz campaigns with many partners.

There is no "Make it a Blitz" checkbox

  • Where you see it: The create wizard, on Step 3 of 4, Review your campaign.
  • Plans affected: Free, Lite, Plus and Elite.
  • Why it happens: Creating a Blitz is included on Master and Ultimate. Other plans see no checkbox and no locked control.
  • How to fix it: Create an ordinary campaign with one partner, or move to Master or Ultimate. See Upgrading to a higher plan. Joining someone else's Blitz needs no particular plan.

"Blitz multi-partner campaigns aren’t included on this account."

  • Where you see it: The create wizard, after pressing Create CP code, with the card Master unlocks this and the button See plans.
  • Plans affected: Free, Lite, Plus and Elite.
  • Why it happens: The page still offered Blitz, but your plan no longer includes it. This can happen when a plan changes while the wizard is open. Nothing was created.
  • How to fix it: Reload the wizard and create an ordinary campaign, or press See plans to move to Master or Ultimate.

"Build your post, then launch once at least one partner has built a post."

  • Where you see it: Your Blitz campaign page, where the Launch Blitz button would be. That button also shows how many partner posts are ready. You may also see Launch once at least one partner has built a post. or Build your main post before launching.
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: A Blitz can launch only when your own post is saved and at least one partner has claimed a slot.
  • How to fix it:
    1. Under Your Blitz post, write the post and press Save post.
    2. Share your code so that channels can claim a slot. The Partners list shows who has joined.

"No partners yet — share your code so channels can claim a slot."

  • Where you see it: Your Blitz campaign page, under the heading Partners, before anyone has claimed a slot.
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: Nobody has claimed a slot on this Blitz yet. Nothing is wrong, and the Blitz cannot launch until at least one partner has joined with a post.
  • How to fix it: Send the code to the channels you want, or list the campaign on the open-campaigns board. Each partner who claims a slot appears in the list with the pill Post ready.

"No partner has built their post yet — wait for at least one."

  • Where you see it: Your Blitz campaign page, after pressing Launch Blitz.
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: No partner slot is ready to run. Either nobody has claimed yet, or the channels that claimed can no longer take part.
  • How to fix it: Share the code again, or list the campaign on the open-campaigns board. Launch once the Partners list shows a partner with the pill Post ready.

"The go-live time has passed"

  • Where you see it: Your Blitz campaign page, in place of the launch button. The banner reads "A Blitz can only launch before its go-live, and it cannot be re-timed. Cancel this one and start a new Blitz with a later go-live — nothing was posted." If you press an old launch button, the message starts the same way and ends "so this Blitz can’t launch."
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: A Blitz can launch only before its go-live, and its time cannot be changed. Nothing was posted. The Blitz closes by itself and does not count toward your monthly allowance.
  • How to fix it: Press Cancel campaign, then create a new Blitz with a later go-live. Your partners must claim a slot again with the new code.

"Your channel needs a public @username and a linked Telegram to launch."

  • Where you see it: Your Blitz campaign page, after pressing Launch Blitz.
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: The bot can run a Blitz only from a channel with a public @username, for an account that is linked to Telegram.
  • How to fix it:
    1. In Telegram, give your channel a public username.
    2. On the website, link your Telegram account in your account settings.
    3. Reload the campaign page and launch again.

"Couldn’t launch — the campaign may have changed. Refresh and retry."

  • Where you see it: Your Blitz campaign page, after pressing Confirm launch. A failure with no stated reason reads Could not launch the Blitz.
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: Something changed between loading the page and launching. Most often a partner claimed a slot in that moment.
  • How to fix it: Reload the page, check the Partners list, then press Launch Blitz and Confirm launch again.

"This Blitz has already been launched or closed."

  • Where you see it: A Blitz campaign page that was left open, after pressing a button. You may also see Only the campaign creator can launch it., Only the campaign creator builds the main post., You can only edit the post before launch., This post can’t be saved right now. or Write your Blitz post text first.
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: The page is out of date, or the action belongs to the creator. After launch the Blitz post can no longer be edited. An empty post cannot be saved.
  • How to fix it: Reload the page to see the current state. Before launch, write the post text and save it again.

"Your Blitz was not launched"

  • Where you see it: A message from @OnflowAdsBot and the notification bell on the website. It reads "Your code's go-live passed before it was launched, so it has closed and nothing was posted. It does not count against your monthly cross-promotions. Start a new Blitz with a later go-live."
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: The go-live passed before you launched. The Blitz has closed and nothing was posted. It does not count toward your monthly allowance.
  • How to fix it: Start a new Blitz with a later go-live, and launch it as soon as your partners' posts are ready.

A partner's slot is missing from the launched Blitz

  • Where you see it: Blitz results on your campaign page, where one of the partners you saw before launch is not listed.
  • Plans affected: Master and Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: That partner's channel could no longer take part when you launched, so its slot was left out. The other slots run as planned.
  • How to fix it: Nothing can be added after launch. If you believe the channel should have been able to take part, contact support with the Campaign ID and the channel's @handle.

Claiming a Blitz slot

These cards are for a partner who joins a Blitz with a code, and for what that partner sees after the launch.

"This is a Blitz campaign — join it through its claim page instead."

  • Where you see it: The join page. If you open the campaign page first, a banner titled Blitz campaign reads "This is a multi-partner campaign — use the join page with the code to claim a slot."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: A Blitz is joined by claiming a slot, not by the ordinary join steps.
  • How to fix it: Open the join page and enter the code. The pane Claim a slot opens. See Joining a cross-promotion with a code.
  • Where you see it: The join page, after pressing Claim slot.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Your website account has no Telegram account linked, so the bot cannot tell you when the Blitz goes live.
  • How to fix it: Link Telegram in your account settings on the website, then press Claim slot again. Your post is kept as a draft in the same browser.

"Your channel needs a public @username to join a Blitz."

  • Where you see it: The join page, after pressing Claim slot.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The channel you fetched has no public username, so the bot cannot run the swap in it.
  • How to fix it: In Telegram, set a public username on the channel. Press Fetch channel again, then Claim slot.

"This blitz campaign is already full."

  • Where you see it: The join page, after entering the code. After pressing Claim slot you may see This Blitz is full, no longer open, or you’ve already claimed a slot.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Every slot is taken. The second message also appears when the creator launched a moment ago, or when you already hold a slot. No slot was claimed, and your draft stays in the browser.
  • How to fix it: Enter the code again to see which case applies. If the Blitz is full, ask the creator whether another one is planned.

"This blitz campaign has already been launched or closed."

  • Where you see it: The join page, after entering the code. You may also see This code has expired — ask your partner to create a new campaign. or Your partner cancelled this campaign, so this code no longer works — ask them for a new one.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The creator already launched, the Blitz was never launched and closed, or the creator cancelled it. Its code no longer works.
  • How to fix it: Nothing can be claimed with this code. Ask the creator for the code of their next Blitz.

"This Blitz’s go-live time has passed, so it can no longer be joined."

  • Where you see it: The join page, after entering the code or pressing Claim slot.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The Blitz was set to go live at a time that has now passed. A Blitz cannot be moved to a later time.
  • How to fix it: Ask the creator to start a new Blitz and send you its code.

"Pick a different channel — that one is the campaign’s own."

  • Where you see it: The join page, after pressing Claim slot. You may also see That’s your own code — share it with a partner instead. or That’s your own campaign.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: You entered the creator's own channel, or the Blitz is yours. A Blitz needs partner channels that are different from the creator's.
  • How to fix it: Fetch a different channel of your own. If the code is yours, share it with partners instead of claiming it.

"Could not claim a slot."

  • Where you see it: The pane Claim a slot on the join page, with the notice Slot not claimed. Before that you may see Enter your public channel link., That doesn't look like a public channel., Fetch your channel first., Write the post you’ll run in the creator’s channel., Trim the post to fit the 1024-character limit., Give every button both a label and a link — or clear the half-filled row., The composer is still loading — try again in a moment. or This isn’t a Blitz campaign.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: A step is missing or incomplete, or the claim did not reach us. No slot was claimed and your draft is kept.
  • How to fix it: Complete the step the message names, then press Claim slot again. For a refusal about a link or a button, see Troubleshooting cross-promotion posts and delivery.

You claimed a Blitz slot and cannot change or withdraw it

  • Where you see it: The campaign page after claiming. It shows the banner You're in this Blitz and only the link back to your campaigns.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Claiming a slot and submitting your post are one action. A partner cannot edit the post, change the schedule or give the slot back.
  • How to fix it: Message the creator. If you cannot honour the run, tell them before they launch, so that they can cancel and start again.

"A Blitz you joined did not run"

  • Where you see it: A message from @OnflowAdsBot and the notification bell on the website. It reads "The creator of the code did not launch it before its go-live, so it has closed and your ad will not run. Nothing is held against you."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The creator did not launch the Blitz before its go-live, so it closed. Your ad will not run. Nothing is held against you.
  • How to fix it: Nothing needs doing. If you still want the swap, ask the creator for the code of a new Blitz.

"No partner slots have gone live yet."

  • Where you see it: Blitz results on the campaign page, once the Blitz is live.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The run has started, but no partner channel has its posts up yet, so there is nothing to count.
  • How to fix it: Refresh the page after a few minutes. The rows for each partner appear once the posts are up.

A launched Blitz shows "Waiting for a partner to join" on the second channel card

  • Where you see it: The campaign page of a Blitz after it is launched, in the second of the two channel cards near the top.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: That card holds the single partner of a one-to-one swap. A Blitz has several partners, so the card stays empty. Your partners and their slots are not affected.
  • How to fix it: You do not need to do anything. Once the Blitz is live, read Blitz results. The creator sees a line for each partner channel, and a partner sees their own slot.

"Partner broke the deal"

  • Where you see it: A line under a partner's row in Blitz results. A partner may see Creator broke the deal on their own slot. The side at fault sees Violation.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: In that slot, one side took the other's ad down or left the other's channel before the agreed end. A reliability penalty was applied to that side only. A Blitz carries no cover, so no money moves.
  • How to fix it: If the line says Violation and you believe it is a mistake, appeal from your reliability page. Otherwise there is nothing to do.

Recurring swaps

These cards cover repeat rounds with the same partner, set up from the Recurring swap panel or the Recurring tab of Discover.

There is no "Recurring swap" panel

  • Where you see it: The campaign page, where the Recurring swap panel normally sits.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The panel needs a partner and a campaign that is at least Confirmed. It is not shown on a campaign that was cancelled, expired or did not run, on a Blitz, or on a row tagged "via Telegram". Once a series exists for the same two channels, the panel shows that series in place of the three buttons.
  • How to fix it: Agree the schedule first. When the campaign reads Confirmed, the panel appears. See Recurring cross-promotion swaps.

"A recurring swap already exists for this pair."

  • Where you see it: The Recurring swap panel, after pressing Weekly, Fortnightly or Monthly.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: These two channels already have a series in the same direction. A pair can have one.
  • How to fix it: Open Discover and its Recurring tab. Pause, resume or end the existing series there.

"You can set up recurring swaps once the campaign is confirmed."

  • Where you see it: The Recurring swap panel on a page that was left open. You may also see Pick a weekly, fortnightly or monthly cadence., This campaign has no partner yet., This campaign has no schedule to repeat. or This campaign is managed in Telegram.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The campaign is not in a state that can repeat, or the page is out of date. A campaign started in Telegram cannot repeat on the website.
  • How to fix it: Reload the page. Propose the recurring swap once the campaign has a partner, a schedule and the status Confirmed.

"Your partner accepts your proposal."

  • Where you see it: The Recurring swap panel or the Recurring tab, after trying to accept a proposal.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The proposal is your own. Only your partner can accept it.
  • How to fix it: Wait for your partner's answer. To withdraw the proposal, press Cancel proposal.

"Your partner paused this recurring swap, so only they can resume it."

  • Where you see it: The Recurring swap panel or the Recurring tab, after pressing Resume.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Either side may pause a series, but only the member who paused it may resume it.
  • How to fix it: Ask your partner to press Resume. If you no longer want the series, press End.

"This recurring swap can't be turned on right now. Ask your partner to try later."

  • Where you see it: The Recurring swap panel or the Recurring tab, after pressing Accept or Resume.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Each round is started in the name of one of the two partners. That member cannot start campaigns at the moment. The reason is theirs and is not shown to you. Nothing changed.
  • How to fix it: Ask your partner to check their own account, then try again later.

"That action can’t be applied right now."

  • Where you see it: The Recurring swap panel or the Recurring tab, after pressing any button. You may also see Recurring swap not found., You don’t have access to this recurring swap., That recurring swap doesn’t look right., Unknown action., Could not set up the recurring swap., Could not update the recurring swap. or Couldn't load your recurring swaps.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The series changed since the page loaded, or the request did not go through. These short messages appear after an out-of-date page, a double press or a broken link. Nothing was changed.
  • How to fix it: Reload the Recurring tab and look at the status of the series before pressing again. If the message keeps returning, contact support.

A round you expected never appeared

  • Where you see it: Your campaign lists, where the next round of a recurring swap should be. No notice is sent when a round is skipped.
  • Plans affected: Every plan. One cause, a used-up monthly allowance, cannot happen on Ultimate.
  • Why it happens: A round is skipped, never created late, when any of these is true on its date:
    • The series reads Pending or Paused, or it was ended.
    • The partner whose campaigns the rounds are has used the month's allowance.
    • An account or a channel in the series cannot take part right now.
    • New cross-promotions are paused for everyone.
  • How to fix it:
    1. Open Discover and its Recurring tab, and read the status of the series.
    2. Check the monthly allowance in the plan strip on the campaign page.
    3. Wait for the next date, or create that round by hand as an ordinary campaign.

"Next recurring round set up" arrived but the round has no posts

  • Where you see it: A message from @OnflowAdsBot and the notification bell on the website. The notice ends "Build your posts before go-live to lock it in."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Posts are normally carried over from the last round. This time one of them no longer fits its author's current plan, so neither post was carried. The round exists as Confirmed, with no posts.
  • How to fix it: Open the new campaign. Both partners build a post and approve the other's before go-live. A round without approved posts misses its go-live.

"No recurring swaps yet. Set one up from a confirmed campaign to auto-rebook with a partner."

  • Where you see it: The Recurring tab of Discover.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: You have no pending, active or paused series. An ended series is not listed.
  • How to fix it: Open a campaign that is Confirmed or later and use its Recurring swap panel.

The Portfolio

These cards cover the Portfolio, the one view of every channel you run. See The cross-promotion portfolio.

"No cross-promotion activity yet. Create a campaign or find a partner to get started."

  • Where you see it: The Portfolio page, in place of the channel cards.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: None of your channels has a campaign or a directory listing yet, so there is nothing to show.
  • How to fix it: Create a campaign or list a channel in the directory. See Creating a cross-promotion campaign.

A channel is missing from the Portfolio

  • Where you see it: The Portfolio page, where one of your channels has no card.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: A channel gets a card once it has an active or completed campaign, or a current directory listing. A channel whose only campaigns were cancelled or expired has no card.
  • How to fix it: Run a campaign with that channel, or list it in the directory. The card appears after that.

"Couldn't load your portfolio."

  • Where you see it: The Portfolio page. After pressing List on directory or Remove from directory you may see Could not update., Pick the channel you want to take off the directory. or a message about the channel itself.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The page could not be read, or the listing change did not go through. The listing is unchanged.
  • How to fix it: Reload the page and try again. If a message about the channel appears, read it, then use the List my channel tab of Discover. Channel messages are explained on Troubleshooting Cross-Promotion.

A Portfolio total looks too low or too high

  • Where you see it: The tiles Total opens, Recurring and Requests at the top of the Portfolio.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Total opens counts completed campaigns only, so a live run is not in it yet. Recurring also counts series that are pending or paused. Requests counts incoming requests still waiting for an answer, and can include some that have since expired.
  • How to fix it: For a live run, read that campaign's own Results panel. For the real lists, open the Recurring and Requests tabs of Discover.

These cards cover the two wallet purchases in Discover. Both are explained on Cross-promotion paid extras.

"Not enough wallet balance — top up to feature your listing."

  • Where you see it: Your listings on the List my channel tab, after pressing Confirm — charge my wallet.
  • Plans affected: Free, Lite, Plus, Elite and Master.
  • Why it happens: Your spendable balance is lower than the price on the button. Nothing was charged and the listing is not featured. On Ultimate the button shows the word free where the price would be, so there is nothing to pay.
  • How to fix it: Top up your wallet, then press the Feature button and confirm again. See Adding funds.
  • Where you see it: Your listings, after pressing Confirm — charge my wallet. You may also see List this channel in the directory first, then feature it.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The listing changed since the page loaded. It is already featured, or it is no longer listed. Nothing was charged, and a double press never buys the same period twice.
  • How to fix it: Reload Your listings. A featured listing shows Featured until and a date, and can be featured again after that date. A channel that is not listed must be listed first.

There is no "Feature" button on a listing

  • Where you see it: A listing card under Your listings.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The button is offered only on a listing that reads Listed and is not featured yet. A listing that reads Hidden or Featured has no button.
  • How to fix it: On a hidden listing, press List again first. On a featured listing, wait until the date after Featured until.

"Could not feature your listing."

  • Where you see it: Your listings, after pressing Confirm — charge my wallet.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The purchase did not complete and no reason came back.
  • How to fix it: Reload Your listings and check your wallet history before you press again. If the listing shows the pill Featured, the purchase went through.

"Not enough wallet balance — top up to boost this request."

  • Where you see it: The Requests tab, on a request you sent, after pressing Confirm — charge wallet.
  • Plans affected: Free, Lite, Plus, Elite and Master.
  • Why it happens: Your spendable balance is lower than the price on the button. Nothing was charged. The request is not boosted and stays pending as before. On Ultimate the button shows the word free where the price would be.
  • How to fix it: Top up your wallet, then press the Boost button and confirm again. See Adding funds.

"This request can’t be boosted — it may be handled or expired already, not yours, or already boosted."

  • Where you see it: The Requests tab, after pressing Confirm — charge wallet. A failure with no stated reason reads Could not boost the request.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: Only your own pending request can be boosted, and only once. This one was answered, expired or boosted before your press arrived. Nothing was charged.
  • How to fix it: Reload the Requests tab. A boosted request shows the pill Priority. A request with no Boost button can no longer be boosted.

The button went back to its price without charging

  • Where you see it: The Feature and Boost buttons. The same happens with Cancel campaign, Launch Blitz and End.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: These actions need two presses. The first press changes the button to a confirm label, such as Confirm — charge my wallet, Confirm cancel or Confirm launch. If the second press does not follow promptly, the button returns to its first label. Nothing was charged or changed.
  • How to fix it: Press the button, then press the confirm label without a long pause.

A purchase was refused with the pause message or the overdrawn-wallet message

  • Where you see it: Your listings or the Requests tab, after confirming a Featured placement or a Request boost.
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: New cross-promotion activity is paused for everyone, and the banner Cross-Promotion is unavailable right now is showing. Or your wallet is below zero, and nothing new can be started until that is cleared. Nothing was charged.
  • How to fix it: For the pause, try again later. For the wallet message, top up the amount it names. Both messages have their own cards on Troubleshooting Cross-Promotion. See also Owing money.

These cards cover what a reader, or you when you test your own ad, can see after tapping a button on a cross-promotion post. Most ads open the promoted page directly. On some ads, mostly older ones, the button opens a chat with @OnflowAdsBot first, and the bot answers with one of these messages.

"Preview Mode"

  • Where you see it: A reply from @OnflowAdsBot after tapping a button on a post. It reads "You tapped a button in Preview Mode: this post has not gone live yet." and "Once the post goes live, this button opens the promoted page."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The campaign behind the button has not gone live yet. It is still being set up, reviewed or waiting for its go-live time.
  • How to fix it: Nothing is broken. Tap the button again once the campaign page reads Live now.
  • Where you see it: A reply from @OnflowAdsBot after tapping a button on a post. It reads "This link could not be opened. The campaign may have ended, or the link was not copied in full." On a live campaign whose post no longer has that button, the reply is Button unavailable, with "This button is no longer available."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The campaign has finished, was cancelled or did not run, or the link was shortened or changed when it was copied.
  • How to fix it: Nothing needs fixing on a campaign that has ended. If the campaign is still live, tap the button on the post itself. Do not use a copied or forwarded link.
  • Where you see it: The page that opens from an ad button, in place of the promoted content. Under the title you read "This promotional link is no longer active.", "This campaign has ended." or a short technical line. If part of the address is missing, the title is Link incomplete, with "Part of this link is missing. Open it again from the post in Telegram."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The campaign is no longer live, the post no longer has that button, or the address was cut short when it was copied.
  • How to fix it: Press Close, go back to the post in Telegram and tap its button again. If the campaign has ended, the link stays closed. That is expected.
  • Where you see it: A reply from @OnflowAdsBot after tapping a button on a live post. It reads "The link for this ad is not available right now. Please try again later." The page that opens from a button can show Temporarily unavailable instead, with "Could not load this link right now. Please try again in a minute." or "Could not load content. Please try again."
  • Plans affected: Every plan.
  • Why it happens: The promoted page could not be opened this time, because of a problem on our side or with the connection. The campaign and its numbers are not affected.
  • How to fix it: Wait a minute and tap the button again. If your own live ad keeps answering this way, contact support with the Campaign ID.
