Removing a channel
You might want a channel off your account because you sold it, closed it, renamed its handle on Telegram, or no longer want it registered.
Removing the record is something support does for you, on request — one message quoting the channel's OFCH- reference. A person handles it because removal is permanent and there is no undo.
Before you start
- The channel's
OFCH-reference, from its row in My channels on the hub, or from the chip at the top of its own dashboard. - A decision about the engines. Removing the registry record is not the same as leaving an engine — see Stop each engine using it below, and do that part yourself first.
How to have a channel removed
- Open the support widget in the bottom-right corner of any page, or go to https://onflowads.com/contact.
- Ask for the channel to be removed, and quote its
OFCH-reference so there is no doubt which one you mean. - Say why in one line — sold, closed, handle changed, added by mistake. It is not a test; it helps the team check nothing is mid-flight.
- Leave anything still running to finish first, or cancel it properly through the engine that owns it.
There is no trash and no undo. When the record goes, its name, description, category, keywords, prices, audience information, review status, any reviewer note and its stored photo go with it — whether the channel was a draft, in the queue, approved or sent back for changes. Listing it again means starting over: registering it, verifying it, filling in the wizard, and passing review from scratch.
What removal touches — and what it does not
Removed with the channel record:
- The description you wrote: name, description, category, keywords, prices, repeat-order discount, audience split and subscriber source.
- The stored channel photo, whether it was uploaded by you or pulled from Telegram.
- Its review status and any reviewer note.
- Its
OFCH-reference, which is never reused.
Not touched:
- Your Telegram channel itself. Onflow Ads never posts to, renames or deletes anything on Telegram because a record was removed here.
- Your Onflow Ads account, your wallet balance and your transaction history.
- Your reliability score and its ledger — the score belongs to the account, not to any one channel.
- Your notifications history.
- The click figures from campaigns that used the channel; those live on the campaigns, not on the channel.
- Your other channels — every record is independent.
Removing the record does not take the bot out of your channel's administrator list. Only you can do that, from Telegram. If you might register the channel again later, leaving the bot in place means verification passes instantly next time. If not, remove it in the channel's administrator settings.
Stop each engine using it
The registry record is only one of the places a channel lives. Removing it does not withdraw the channel from an engine, and each engine has its own control:
| Engine | How to stop using the channel |
|---|---|
| Subscriber Exchange | Press Leave on the channel at /telegram/dashboard/subscriber-exchange |
| Boost — Auto-Boost | Pause or Cancel the rule at /telegram/dashboard/boost/auto. Cancelling returns any remaining budget to your balance |
| Boost — one-off orders | Nothing to withdraw; an order runs to completion or is refunded |
| Paid Promotions | Manage the listing from its own page under /telegram/dashboard/paid-promotion — the listing has its own status |
| Cross-Promotion | Finish, or cancel, any campaign the channel is part of before it goes live |
Removing a record, leaving an engine or pausing a rule is not a way out of a commitment already made. A cross-promotion abandoned before it runs, a booking accepted and not posted, or a post pulled down early are all confirmed outcomes with published penalties — −0.30 for ghosting, −1.00 for not posting in the window, −1.50 for a post removed early. See Your reliability score.
If you only want it out of sight
Removing the record is often not what you actually need:
- A draft is already private. Nothing about a draft channel is public, and its avatar is only visible to you and to reviewers. Leaving it as a draft costs nothing except a row in My channels and one on the Connected channels tile.
- An approved channel's avatar is publicly viewable through Onflow Ads. That is the main practical difference approval makes, and it is a reason to ask for removal rather than leave an approved record standing for a channel you no longer own.
- Registering the same channel twice is refused. While a record exists, adding it again answers "You've already added that channel." That rule only applies while the record is there — once it is removed, the handle is free again.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "You've already added that channel." | A record for that handle still exists on your account | Open it at its own address; ask support to remove it if you want to start over |
| The channel is gone from the hub but still in an engine | Removing the record does not withdraw it from the engines | Use the engine's own control, above |
| You sold the channel and the buyer cannot register it | Your record still holds the handle | Ask support to remove yours first |
| Your handle changed on Telegram and the record still shows the old one | The handle is fixed when the channel is registered | Ask support to remove the old record, then register the new handle |
