Sharing and rating blog posts
At the end of a post on the Onflow Ads blog you can pass the post on and say whether it helped. Both take one press.
Sharing and rating need no account and work the same for everyone. Nothing on this page differs by plan.
How to share a blog post
- Scroll to Share at the end of the post.
Signed out — the end of a blog post: topics, Share and the rating These three rows close a post, when the blog shows them. 1 The post's topics. Each opens every post with that topic. 2 The share buttons the blog shows. 3 Copy link puts the post's address on your clipboard. 4 After you press Yes or No, both buttons grey out and the thank-you line appears.
- Press the button for the place you want to share to:
- X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Telegram or WhatsApp opens that network's own share page in a new tab, with the post's address filled in.
- Email opens your device's mail app with a new message. The post's title is the subject and its address is the text.
- Copy link copies the post's address. The button reads "Link copied" for a moment.
- Finish in the place that opened: choose who receives it and send. After Copy link, paste the address wherever you like.
The blog chooses which of these buttons appear, and it can remove the Share row. If a button is missing, copy the address from your browser's address bar instead.
What a shared blog link looks like
When you paste a post's link into a chat or a social network, it usually shows as a card with a picture. The picture is usually the post's cover. A post without a cover usually gets a card drawn from its title.
Topics at the end of a blog post
The chips above Share are the post's topics. Press one to open a page that lists every post with that topic. It is the quickest way from one post to others on the same subject.
Telling the blog whether a post helped
- Scroll to the question "Was this post helpful?" at the end of the post.
- Press Yes or No. Both buttons grey out and the line "Thank you for telling us." appears.
That is all. Nothing else is asked, and your answer cannot be changed afterwards. The same browser shows the question as answered when you open that post again.
Only a count of the answers is kept. Your name, your email address and your account are not part of it.
The question is absent when the blog has switched it off. To say more than yes or no, leave a comment when the post has comments, or press Contact in the blog's footer.
If something goes wrong
Find the message you see, or the part of the Share row or the rating that is not working at the end of a blog post.
"Could not copy"
-
Where you see it:
On the button itself, for a moment, after you press Copy link on a post, Copy on a sample inside a post, or Copy the address on the page at the feed's address.
-
Plans affected:
Every plan, and readers without an account.
-
Why it happens:
Your browser did not let the page use the clipboard. Nothing was copied.
-
How to fix it:
Copy by hand. For a post, select the address in your browser's address bar and copy it. On the feed's page, tap the address field, which selects all of it, then copy.
A share button, or the whole Share row, is missing
-
Where you see it:
The end of a post. One of the buttons is not there, or there is no Share row.
-
Plans affected:
Every plan, and readers without an account.
-
Why it happens:
The blog chooses which share buttons appear and can remove the row. Copy link is also hidden when your browser has scripts switched off.
-
How to fix it:
Copy the post's address from the address bar and paste it where you want to share it.
The Email share button does nothing
-
Where you see it:
The Share row at the end of a post, after pressing Email.
-
Plans affected:
Every plan, and readers without an account.
-
Why it happens:
Email opens the mail app set up on your device. A device with no mail app set up has nothing to open.
-
How to fix it:
Press Copy link, then paste the address into a message in the email service you use in your browser.
Yes and No are greyed out, or the question is missing
-
Where you see it:
The end of a post. The line "Thank you for telling us." shows beside two greyed-out buttons, or there is no "Was this post helpful?" row.
-
Plans affected:
Every plan, and readers without an account.
-
Why it happens:
This browser has already answered for this post, and the earlier answer stands. The row is missing when the blog has switched the question off, or when your browser has scripts switched off.
-
How to fix it:
Nothing needs fixing. To say more, comment on the post when it has comments, or press Contact in the blog's footer.
More fixes are on Troubleshooting the blog.
