Refining copy you already have

Refine is the second tab of the Write with AI popup on a Cross-Promotion campaign page. It takes copy you already wrote and improves it β€” tighter wording, corrected grammar, a sharper hook, a clearer call to action β€” under a standing instruction not to invent anything that was not in the original.

That instruction is the whole point of the tab. Whatever facts, prices and promises go in are the only ones that come out.

Before you start

  • You have copy to work on. Refine pre-fills itself from what is already in your post. If the post is empty there is nothing to improve.
  • A Cross-Promotion campaign page. The popup is shared by all three engines, but the Refine tab is only offered on a cross-promotion β€” Paid Promotions and the Subscriber Exchange get Generate and Image and nothing else. Paid Promotions has a different rewrite button, Fix to pass, which targets that channel's pre-flight failures rather than the writing.
  • Any plan, including Free, subject to your text allowance.

Step by step

  1. Write or paste your post into the Your cross-promotion post composer first β€” Refine reads what is there.
  2. Press Write with AI, then the Refine tab.
  3. Check Copy to improve. It is already filled with your post β€” its formatting included, so a post with bold or a link shows the Telegram tags that carry them. That is deliberate; see below. Edit it here if you want to refine only part of the post; the field takes 2,000 characters.
  4. Optionally add one line under How should it change? β€” placeholder e.g. shorter, warmer, add a clear call to action. It takes 300 characters. Leave it blank for a general polish.
  5. Press Generate. The status line reads Writing…
  6. Read the Preview. The status line changes to Have a look. Nothing changes until you apply it.
  7. Press Apply to my post, then Save post.
One instruction at a time

A single, concrete instruction outperforms a list. Cut it to two sentences or make the invite the last line changes one thing you can check. Make it better, shorter, friendlier and add urgency pulls in four directions and usually returns something blander than what you started with.

What Refine will and will not do

It willIt will not
Tighten wording and cut paddingAdd a price, a statistic or a discount that was not there
Fix grammar and punctuationAdd a guarantee or a claim you did not make
Sharpen the opening hookChange the language your copy is written in unless you ask
Make sure there is a clear call to actionReturn Markdown β€” the output uses only Telegram's bold, italic and link formatting
Keep the result under about 600 charactersPreserve an unsafe link: a link whose address is not an ordinary web, Telegram or email address is stripped
Read the result against your facts

"It will not invent facts" is an instruction to the model, not a guarantee from us. A rewrite can still change the emphasis of a claim β€” turning "some members report" into "members report" β€” which is a meaningful edit in advertising copy. Read the preview against your original before you apply it. You are the publisher.

Refine is given your formatting, on purpose

The tab is seeded with your post as it is written, formatting and all β€” so if your post contains bold, italic or a link, you will see the Telegram tags that carry them in Copy to improve. Seeing markup in a text box looks like something has gone wrong. It has not, and the reason matters:

  • Your links go to the model and come back. The refine prompt asks for output in the same bold, italic and link tags, so a link you inserted survives the rewrite instead of being flattened into dead words.
  • The result comes back formatted, and the composer applies it as formatting rather than as visible tags.
  • Any inline buttons on your post are untouched β€” they are not part of the copy.

Two things follow. First, the copy you are refining does leave the page in full, tags included, exactly as it would if you had pasted it. Second, if you would rather refine only the words, delete the tags out of Copy to improve before you press Generate β€” it is an ordinary textarea.

If your post relied on specific link text, re-check it after applying.

What it costs

One text action per attempt, including each Regenerate. Nothing is charged when the model returns an empty result or the request fails β€” the message says no action was used, and the action is handed straight back.

A declined prompt costs nothing either. Refine checks both halves against the content policy: the copy you are improving and the instruction you typed.
